FISCAL WATCHDOG
ROOTING OUT FRAUD AND ABUSE
A COMMITMENT TO SOCIAL JUSTICE
IMPACT ON DATA AND TRANSPARENCY
Since taking office, I have emphasized transparency and data. Transparency of information is important for a government to embrace as it strengthens the trust between people and their government, and data is the backbone of any good decision-making process. From data releases on soda tax spending to analysis on COVID-19’s impact on Philadelphia’s small businesses, my office strives to be the go-to place for data and transparency in city government.
We need a city government that provides high-quality services to every Philadelphian at the lowest cost to taxpayers. As the independent financial watchdog and chief auditor for the City of Philadelphia, I am responsible for ensuring that the City is spending taxpayer money efficiently, effectively, and appropriately, for holding the administration accountable, and for rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse in City government.
